I am so thrilled! I played the bass guitar in church today! This has been a dream come true for me! I love playing the bass because it gives me the best of both worlds- drums and guitar.
So in 2001 I had gone to learn the basics of playing the bass to at a month long worship school in TamilNadu. I did learn some bass there but then never played for 9 years due to busyness. Even though I bought myself a bass guitar and amp yet I wasn’t able to discipline myself to play it regularly.
But 3 Sundays ago the pastor invited some other youth and me for a meeting with the worship team. We were told that they wanted to bring in some new faces into the choir for some of the Christmas programs. I volunteered to try my hand at the bass…..and then the rest as they say…..is history. (Or will be! 😉
The Father also spoke to me through Gen 15 and Luke 19 about being dissatisfied until I am satisfied in Him and Him alone. About not settling for as C.S Lewis calls it “mud pies in a slum” when “the offer for a time by the sea awaits me”! Having a hunger to know God and seek Him with all my heart. About persisting with God till he reveals Himself to you and also gives you a new name- like in Revelation! What a blessed day! So great is the measure of our Father’s love who does immeasurably more than we can ever ask or imagine!
