After reading this article, I am left with one question: Should BSNL be privatised? Haven’t we had enough of unprofessionalism from our state (mis) carrier?

The government is least bothered, the bureaucrats don’t give two hoots and even the employees don’t care whether the company does well!  Everyone is too busy lining their own pockets to care about customer service or shareholder returns! Maybe we should go the Maruti way? Maybe we should chop it up an sell it off and get our government’s grubby fingers out of one more business!

Yeah! Yeah!  I know the argument is that profits are not the central motive for a state owned enterprise…blah blah!

Well, when I last looked neither does service! Duh!

So they bring Deepika Padukone and think she will solve their problems? Fat chance!

I am willing to bet they will lose out on the race for 3G market share as well- that after being given nearly a year’s headstart by the government!

Maybe apathy and world class ‘lousy service’ should be the organisation’s mission statement!
